What can you expect
Get picked up by songthaew (an adapted Thai style pickup truck) from your hotel in Krabi and enjoy a scenic drive through rural villages to Baan Nai Nang located at the rugged coastline of Ao Luk Noi in the north of Krabi. Meet the lovely crew of Blue Anda Krabi Travel at Wang Toh Tao Pier, where you will undergo a short health check-up before starting the longtail boat ride into Khao Karos Bay.
Cruise with your knowledgeable local captain and guide by traditional longtail boat a maze of mangrove surrounded natural waterways, that are connected to the Andaman Sea. Scores of steep, bizarrely shaped karst formations protrude from the mangrove forests, adding a dramatic and distinctive touch to this region.
It's now time to change to the smaller and more maneuverable kayak which lets you enter the waterways leading into a spectacular, very narrow canyon, that is flanked by towering karst cliffs on both sides. You will also visit the natural attraction known as ‘Ghost Mountain’ in the death valley, a limestone rock, that features the spooky face of a ghost.
Continue to ‘Cave Man Window’, a cave that can only be accessed by boat. Inside the cave are several short ladders, on which you can climb up to an opening, offering fantastic views across parts of the bay.
On the way to Hat Makham Bay in the southern tip of the Khao Garos mountain range, you will see some 3000 to 5000 years old wall paintings. At Midday you can enjoy a Thai style lunch at the hidden beach of Hat Makham. Here you can take a refreshing dip in the water and relax under the shadow of the indigenous species of trees with a fascinating view over the Andaman Sea and surrounding islands.
The last highlight is the lagoon of Lae Nai where you can take photos which you will sure take lasting memories from. Head back to the pier where the driver will bring you safely to your hotel.
